New Jersey Area, School Information
J.One specializes in coverage of Bergen County, an extremely desirable area with many different housing types and good access to Manhattan by car, bus, train, and even ferry. More information:
A narrow strip borough located along the Hudson River; across the river you can view the buildings of the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Along River Road are 5 main shopping areas: Towne Center, Binghamton Shopping Plaza, Mitsuwa Marketplace, Edgewater Commons, and City Place. With convenient access to the city, an excellent view of Manhattan, safe neighborhoods, and great places to shop, Edgewater is becoming one of the most popular places to live for those who work in NYC. Most of the apartments are new or recently built, with excellent security (doormen, large gates). Using regular NJ Transit bus services, residents can reach the city within 30 minutes. Direct ferries to Midtown and Wall Street are also available. To reach our office from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, get on the Mitsuwa Bus at Gate #51—it will take you directly to our office.
North of Edgewater, Fort Lee is located at the western end of the George Washington Bridge. There are plenty of restaurants, bakeries, coffeeshops, and other amenities here. Using regular New Jersey Transit bus services, it takes about 45 minutes to reach New York City. You can also take short-hop local bus services to the George Washington Bridge bus and subway stations (“A” train). Most properties here are duplexes, coops, and condominiums.
Located north of Fort Lee, Englewood Cliffs features upscale homes and a quiet, family-friendly environment.
This small north of Tenafly features good schools and a quiet, small-town feeling.
About 5 miles north from Fort Lee, Tenafly features one of the highest-ranked school systems in New Jersey. There are many public facilities and libraries for small children. Real estate here is generally priced higher than in surrounding communities. Access to New York City is by private bus, and takes approximately one hour.
Ridgewood is located in central Bergen County; it is an affluent suburban bedroom community, with one of the state’s top school districts. A train station offers service to Manhattan (with a change in Hoboken or Secaucus). Downtown features many shops, restaurants, salons, and the like. With its green trees, parks, and many grand single-family homes, Ridgewood is considered to be one of the best places to live in New Jersey. Real estate is priced accordingly.
A small town located south of Ridgewood, Glen Rock possesses excellent schools. To and from Manhattan, trains and express bus services are each available.
Located east of Ridgewood and approximately 15 miles from Midtown Manhattan, Paramus is one of the largest shopping areas in the Northeast. It features many shopping malls and anchor stores, including Bergen Town Center, the Garden State Plaza, Paramus Park, a free-standing IKEA, and a newly open Uniqlo. At the junction of Routes 4, 17, and the Garden State Parkway, Paramus features easy automobile access to NYC and other areas of New Jersey; there are also bus services to the city. Both small and large single-family homes can be found here.
